Racism still thrives in the US. The subject of our film, Francine Villa, was convinced as she was beaten by three white police officers when she turned to them for help. Francine fled the United States for Russia in 2019, just like her grandfather almost a hundred years ago.

Then there were areas in American cities where blacks were forbidden to go. They could not use toilets and showers on an equal basis. African Americans were given the most menial of jobs.

Because of this, hundreds of people left for a foreign country, where they found a home. Their stories are in the film Black in the USSR.
