Don't throw your old battery charger away...FIX IT and make it SAFER!

Here's an old vintage battery charger I recently saved from the garbage. It has the same problem pretty much ALL these old chargers have, but we'll fix that and add some safety features. These are great for charging lead acid or sealed lead acid batteries (SLA), and can often charge batteries other modern chargers won't even attempt to charge, so they have a usefulness and should not be discarded. But how SAFE are they? Let's see how we can repair one and make it safer at the same time.
