It has long been acknowledged to locals and naturalists that some Ethiopian lions appearance distinctive from other African lions. These lions have thick, dark manes that extend from their heads and necks down to their bellies, and that they have a tendency to be smaller and greater compact. Now, an international team of researchers has furnished the primary complete proof that those lions are, in reality, genetically distinct from different lions — and extraordinarily rare.
