Each Time I hear a Max Roach recording their is always something new to experience . Love how Max was able combine rhythmic melodies to form a beautiful composition . Max was unmatched when it came to creating music on the drum set, transforming the idea that drums were only an accompanying instrument. He and a few other drummers helped bring the drums to the forefront of the band stand. Max proved that one can create something sexy on the drums using dynamics, feel and technique .
