Covenants - Part 7 - The seed of the woman

With the demise of the Edenic covenant, God immediately establishes a new covenant with mankind, or more specifically with “the seed of the woman.”

There is hope for mankind! God promises a future redeemer who will crush the head of the serpent. Immediately after promising the seed, God speaks of the woman’s childbirth pains. From the context it indicates that the seed was referring to the woman’s offspring. As we have seen, it was not Eve - but Adam - who was held responsible for the Fall of the human race and our inherited (original) sin. Because of this God chose to bring redemption for all mankind through the “seed of the woman.” Who is the seed of the woman and who is the seed of the serpent. What is the Serpent Seed doctrine and is it biblical?
