SCOTUS Conservatives Are Just Getting Started

The MR crew discuss Justice Clarence Thomas’ brief mentioning Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell and that abortion is not in the constitution. The Majority Report crew discuss the possibility of Republican judges from the circuit courts ruling in the attempt to reverse precedents established by Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. There are two things I want to just point out from these decisions and it's unclear to me at this point how much Alito's um brief tracks with what came out. I believe at first blush the main difference is that the language that Alito had put in about those cases that Jamal Bowie mentioned Griswald, which has to do with uh birth control this was a case I believe in the 50s maybe it was this early 60s where the court found a right to privacy involving people taking birth control. Lawrence was a case out of Texas I believe this was in the arts um that there was a law on the books in Texas that you could not Griswold was 65. Lawrence was 2003. thank you, you could not engage in…
