Kanye West vs. The Record Industry

Kanye West recently posted his record contracts on Twitter and it's clearly become a battle of Kanye West vs. The Record Industry.

Kanye has since demanded a new way of the record industry running their business. It's clear Kanye West is fed up with how the record contracts diminish artists' ability to own their own music and copyrights.

I have made two previous videos pertaining to this topic: Why Your Favorite Musicians Are Broke and Part 2: Why Your Favorite Musicians Are Broke. I go into detail how the 360 record contracts work and why many musicians are in fact broke, even though they may be selling millions of albums.

Kanye West released ten contracts in his Twitter rant. These are not all of his contracts, but they give us an idea of what his relationship with Roc-A-Fella Records and Island Def Jam looks like. He received huge advances to produce his albums, as expected.
