USC Professor Suspended Over Chinese “N-Word”

A USC professor, Greg Patton, was suspended for saying a Chinese word in Mandarin that sounds like the n word. Some black students got offended and wrote to the USC Marshall dean who apologized and let him go. But some former students came to the defense of Professor Greg Patton, and compared what happened to him to the "institutional insanity" of China's Cultural Revolution. Was it racism, or have things gone too far?
