My Club ballroom day's are over .

For a short stint of about 2 years I played percussion along side some of the top DJ's in New York. 4 to 5 hours straight no breaks every Saturday night. The constant 4 on the floor booming bass drum would eventually place you into a trance like state .There were times where I felt myself lift off the ground and would look down at myself and the club goers .
I did learn a lot during this time I understood when to back off and let the DJ perform and motivate the dancers , let the DJ breath til he or she were satisficed .Listening until I felt it was appropriate to solo or accentuate what was coming across the loud speakers. Endurance and pacing oneself is key knowing when to lay off the drums using only the shakers and tambourine then reintroducing the hand percussion back into the groove. All night long .
