These riots are dealing double damage to Joe Biden's electoral prospects. On the hand, focus on police violence energizes the democratic base over an issue that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are historically weak on. This risks actually suppressing turnout amongst the democratic base as Biden and Harris cannot be seen as effective opponents of American policing.
