The Voth advance had been halted but that's only a stop gap measure. The real issue at stake are the Omega molecules. The sphere generates them en masse to use as fuel to jump across the galaxy, and the Voth want to use that to take the sphere home with them. We can't allow that. So it's time to find the engine of this giant sphere and throw the galaxies largest spanner in it.
