Quickie: The Motte and the Bailey

The Motte and Bailey Doctrine is a kind of bait-and-switch where someone, upon being refuted and unable to defend their Bailey argument, will PRETEND that their position was a much more defensible one. It's especially effective when their Motte argument is one it would be immoral to oppose.
