The Screen Guild Theater: Casablanca
The Screen Guild Theater: Casablanca
Originally aired April 26th, 1943
A cynical cafe owner in World War II Casablanca meets a past love, and must make a hard choice.
Broadcast from 1939 through 1952, The Screen Guild Theater began with a variety format, but eventually gravitated toward adaptions of major motion pictures. Fees typically charged by the actors were donated to the Motion Picture Relief Fund in order to support the creation and maintenance of the Motion Picture Country Home for retired actors. Nearly $800,000 had been contributed by the summer of 1942.
