117. Roman Baber - Stand On Guard for Thee

Roman is a lawyer called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 and practiced law until his election, primarily in the areas of insurance and commercial litigation. He attended high school at W.L. Mackenzie C.I., obtained a B.A. from York University and graduated law school at the University of Western Ontario.

Roman was born and raised in the Soviet Union until age eight and then lived in Israel until age fifteen.  He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1995 and settled in the heart of York Centre at Sheppard and Bathurst.

Roman is an occasional lecturer at an after-school program, engaging high school students on constitutional and criminal law topics. He is a member of the Jewish Russian Community Centre, belongs to the Order of the Knights of Rizal and is a loyal fan of the Toronto Raptors.
