How MrBeast Grew to 40 MILLION Subscribers

MrBeast surpassed 40 million subscribers on YouTube. While reading Nassim Taleb's book Fooled By Randomness, I realized that MrBeast used an important principle from the book to grow his YouTube channel.

One of the chapters in the book is dedicated to asymmetrical outcomes through rare events. Nassim preaches that you want to be able to benefit when rare events happen.

MrBeast's rare event was a moment in time where he figured out which content to make for YouTube.

This video uncovers ideas on how to grow a YouTube channel and why MrBeast continued making videos, even though he didn't see growth for years.

MrBeast reached 1,000 subscribers after making 300 videos and posting over 100. He never gave up. It took MrBeast two years to hit 1,000 subscribers.

He grew slowly until he released a video where he counted from 0 to 10,000. In the months following this video, he began releasing similar videos - i.e. a video of him doing something that only a super dedicated YouTube could pull off. It landed. His rare event occurred.

The principle taught in this video is that the upside from a rare event can be exponentially greater than the sum of all of the losses incurred previously. This is how Nassim Taleb traded stocks and made his money.

I've implemented this strategy with my YouTube as well. Spend years tinkering with the content until you find the style that fits you well. I experienced my rare event in September 2019 when my video about purchasing a 4plex in Las Vegas exploded with views. The video surpassed 100k views and the channel growth was wild.
