The women’s leagues around the world are home to many young blooded football players. They treasure their time playing against star players, learning the tricks of the trade as they go. These young heroes, many under 20 years old, play with great enthusiasm and courage. While some learn quickly and are able to endure pain when injured, others can only learn the hard way on receiving end of some really harsh tackles. It is good to be enthusiastic, but over enthusiasm may lead to mistakes or freak accidents which end in serious foot injuries. French youth international Coquard is one such player. Though very young, she already demonstrates the spirit of team work and leadership on the field. She will learn from her mistakes, but one accident recently ended in excruciating pain as she twisted her ankle stepping on her team mate. The accident forced her to abandon the match. She was bitterly disappointed!
