Jim Jordon to Fauci: Do Protests Increase the Spread of the Virus? His answer is revealing. On Friday, the Ohio congressman pressed Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, to comment during his House testimony on whether or not the US government should curb protests in order to stem the spread of COVID-19. Fauci declined to speak directly to the Republican lawmaker's questions, adding that "any crowd of people close together without masks is a risk." Yet his body language and demeanor clearly indicated he knew his double standard was being unmasked (no pun intended.)
