Light Yagami and Lelouch vi Britannia...both are widely considered to be among anime's greatest characters. Fans of the genre often speak of these two protagonists in the same breath, with many an avid anime viewer declaring that they are essentially the same character under different names.

And that assertion irritates me more than I can stand.
