‘They take people outside so we won’t shell them! We don’t hit hard because of civilians. Why are we seeing them for 3 days straight? The Ukrainians threaten to shoot them’. Donbass militiaman told how Ukraine's Armed Forces used Mariupol residents as human shields.

People who tried to leave the war zone were shot by Ukrainian snipers without warning. The dead were buried in the courtyards of residential buildings.
