Bill MacGregor is the Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Toronto, Canada. He suggests that UFO and ET phenomena are divine in origin, where we confront alternative hypotheses (h1) UFO phenomena are of divine (or Godly) origin; (h2)UFO phenomena are fake or fabricated; or (h3) UFO phenomena are bona fide and of extraterrestrial origin. My suggestion is that, like other hypotheses, (h1) to (h3) can be evaluated by the same criteria as scientific theories, generally, to wit: (a) the clarity and precision of the language in which they are expressed; (b) their scope of application for the explanation and prediction of the phenomena; (c) their respective degrees of empirical confirmation; and (d) the simplicity, elegance or economy with which (a), (b) and (c) are satisfied.
