Ukraine is giving its citizens the right to keep and bear arms

Ukrainians could gain the right to carry pistols for self-defense as early as next year, according to an adviser to the country’s minister for internal affairs. Could this be something that backfires on the government of Ukraine, considering how corrupt it is?
