The Savannah (Savanna) is the vast open country of the tropics composed of a patchwork of trees and shrubs on a bed of grass. It is a result of the tropical wet and dry seasons that cycle through the tropics year after year - the Tropical Savannah Climate.

In this video on biogeography we take a close look at the Savannah Biome. What is the Savannah? What makes it that way? And what countries have the Savannah?

The Savannah Biome dominates the continent of Africa at the centre of our world but is also found in Brazil, Australia, India and the Caribbean. 🌎🌍🌏

Of all the world’s habitats, this one supports the earth’s most famous fauna and wildlife. This is the home of the safari of the Masai Mara of Kenya, the Serengeti of Tanzania and the Kruger National Park of South Africa. 🐗🦘🦒🐘🦛🦏🦓🐆
