I read a blog recently that said, 'make your chapters like blog posts'. I had a chuckle at this because it felt formulaic and nonsensical to me. I see a lot of 'one-size fits all' mentality on the internet for a number of creative and entrepreneurial endeavours and not a lot of room for innovation and inspiration.

Being a creative to me means that we live outside the box, not within its parameters. I have chosen to listen to my poetic heart and start each short story and chapter to my novels with poetry, A mini synopsis that is like riddle, or song, a hymn that alludes to what the reader will discover in the pages that follow.

My love of poetry and prose is met by expressing myself through both mediums, and makes the stories I tell that much more engaging.
