When I began my spiritual awakening it was through the use of books (and they didn't cost thousands of dollars) that I built my foundation of understanding. That and empirical experience.

Today youtube is awash with people who are selling themselves as coaches, mentors and guides through a maze of cut and paste spirituality and mindfulness. In my opinion these people are slick used car salespeople who rinse and repeat what they have learned from books, selling courses on what they learned in there for ridiculous profits.
