SUMMARY & PERSONAL THOUGHTS
Talk about a breathtaking car. I've been around a LOT of Porsche in my profession of Car Photography and what not, but nothing.. NOTHING beats the look of the 997 Generation. Whether its a 997.1 or 997.2, they all look amazing. A 997 Turbo S is definitely on the list of cars I want to own one day, and this is as close as I'll get for the time being.

This was a LONG time in the making. I'm great friend with the owner, heck I even went with him when he went to go buy it, leaving it to be a surprise to me. Had no idea what he was buying until we walked into the previous owners garage, so there is some sentimental value there as well. We've been dying to get this on camera, but when he bought it, there was still life left in the current coating, but now that the big TunerEvo event was coming to Orlando, we had to get this thing prepped and ready; it was time!

As you saw, even though the car was coating and well taken care of, it had some damage and even early-on-set Oxidation starting to form on the hood + roof. Combine that with it being a daily driver from the Previous Owner as well as the Current Owner, that's some wear and tear. Which makes sense because it has a Porsche GT3 Aero kit therefore, the rest of the car has been resprayed, but the spots that weren't interchanged, they were still factory. So they needed some dire attention. The paint was an absolute joy to work with, in fact, all of this generation, 996 + 997 Porsches are. They are soft enough that a mildly aggressive compound + pad combo worked fantastic, but not soft enough that something as simple as wiping the paint made it scratch. Older Porsches are usually very soft and even 1-stage paint, which means it can even get sticky and gummy, which just sucks so much.

Overall though, it was a Detail to remember. I LOVE going through my archive here on YouTube and seeing the different cars I've got my hands on, on camera, and a REAL Porsche 911 is now on that list! Gotta Love it! Coated with GTechniq's CSL + EXO V4, this thing is ready for the road.
