Deuteronomy 16:18 - 17:11, June 19, 2022 - You Shall Not Pervert Justice

This week’s study examines God’s instructions for Israel’s justice system, with a tiered court structure, a model America’s Founding Fathers followed when writing the US Constitution. God then warns against false witnesses and corrupt judges, and He reiterates commands against idolatry and blasphemy, which if followed, would protect the legal system from corruption. The wisdom and applicability of God’s commands are evident today as we see increasing corruption in the courts as the nations of the world have increasingly turned away from God.
