Sunday Longplay - Zelda 2 Boss Endurance (NES ROM Hack)

This week on Sunday Longplay, it's a short but sweet ROM hack that I had wanted to try out for a couple years but never got around to it until now. Welcome to Zelda 2 Boss Endurance!

Having played the original Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link to death, I'm always looking for new ways to play it, and this ROM hack provides that in the form of a boss rush! You start in an overworld area with palace icons leading to the first three bosses as well as a town you can't get to from the road because of a forced encounter tile blocking your way that you can't get past because Fairy is the only spell you don't have, and two caves, one leading to the fourth boss and the raft, and the other leading to the second half of the boss rush as well as another route leading to the town you couldn't get to from the road where another key and the downthrust are. There is also one of two magic refills in that cave behind another locked door.

Once you get all the keys and the raft from the first four bosses, take the raft to the second half of the game where two more palace icons appear on the map representing the fifth and sixth bosses. Once you beat them, go in the cave and unlock the doors to the Great Palace where Thunderbird and Dark Link lie.

There is strategy involved with how to level up early on (though you will be maxed out when you get to Thunderbird) as well as how to best use your magic since you only get two refills throughout the whole game, so it's not just as simple as kill every boss at full power!
