3 inches of rain later...Update 7-8-22

Prayers for rain were answered! And we had the sweet spot--not 7-9" like some parts north of us and not a scant amount like those south. We had about 3" total over a period of several days. Everything has greened up--and the field corn has shot up practically overnight (I wonder if you really can hear it grow? Doubt my ears are keen enough for that!)

I pressure-canned 6 quarts of yellow beans this week and canned 2 quarts of bread and butter pickles. I have videos on that from previous years so nothing new!

The garden is a bit muddy where there is no straw so we'll wait until tomorrow to spray calcium on the tomatoes (to prevent blossom end rot with all this rain). Japanese beetles have become a problem again since it rained and diseases could as well. Got to stay one step ahead of any problems!
