Episode 4: Language is a form of perception

While it may seem counterintuitive, language is actually reducible to a special way of perceiving. One evolves as people develop the ability to perceive signs as standing for or symbolizing their referents. This is carefully explained in my book Evolution of Perception Re-Explained.
