The Morning Star international editor Steve Sweeney has accused UK media of a “masterclass in fascism denial” with its blanket coverage painting the Azov Battalion as simply “misunderstood”.

Sweeney told RT that major outlets are producing “identical reports… that don’t deviate from the government line, the NATO line” and downplay the military group’s neo-Nazi links.

After visiting Lviv in person, he added that the city was “essentially full of fascists and mercenaries” who welcomed foreigners who have come “to kill the Russians” as heroes.
