Mashbox Falls, Caesars Head SP, SC -- 4K Cinematic

This is the rarely visited and seldomly traveled Mashbox Falls Hike. Nestled in Ceasers Head State Park and treading next to Jones Gap State Park, this loop hike starts and stops off a small parking lot next to Hwy 276. The total distance according to AllTrails is 2.1 miles, however, on my particular hike, I clocked 4.6 miles. The elevation is pretty tame until the scramble near the end of the loop. There is a turnoff from the main pinnacle pass trail that is very easy to miss, so I would recommend downloading the map before you go or bringing a hard map. Along this hike, there are a few waterfalls, but most notably are Evan's Falls on Oil Camp Creek which then leads to Mashbox Falls. Mashbox fall is about a 90-100 ft waterfall that is best-viewed post-rain. Any novice or beginner hikers may want to get a few easier hikes under their belt before attempting this slight bushwack trail. The path is overgrown, but still visible to a keen experienced hiker's eye to navigate through. This is an AT YOUR OWN RISK adventure.
