What esteem ought we to have for the duties and privileges of prayer? If you ask according to His will, He hears us. We have confidence in that.
This two part teaching sermon in part addresses so called "prayer" offered by the wicked who are ignorant regarding God's will.
Fair warning: that includes a lot of deceived persons -- many good in their own eyes and professing believers -- religiously devoted to idols of their own making which are an offense to God; who live in constant offense against God with their ignorance of His will and commandments; and presumptively seek some way to improve upon His perfect, finished work performed for His Elect by "the way, the truth, and the life", the Lord Jesus Christ. They believe in the necessity of their works and the efficacy of their works to somehow enable and/or improve upon God's work in His creation. They believe that what they do has sanctifying power apart from what the Lord has done.
