Flooded Out Fields!

(thumbnail is broccoli) Lori Fiechter here in muddy Indiana. We are at 2 and a half inches of rain today and it's still raining at 4:30pm (total ended up at 2.8")...It has rained all day...I wade outside every few hours just to check the rain gauge and to take video of the cornfield lakes/rivers! I've soaked all of my garden shoes. All three pairs. Ditto garden gloves. Garden jeans have been rained on twice now. The forecast is for more of the same tomorrow. Stan sprayed the fruit trees last week, but that spray is long washed away. He'll need to spray again when things dry up by mid-week.

The garden is hanging in there--good thing Stan mounded up a lot of the plants with dirt yesterday so the water is mostly in between rows. And there has been no wind to know over the soggy-bottomed plants. We won't have to water for a good long while! Another blessing.
