CVS no Guns Allowed policy failed to stop employee getting shot

On September 5, 2019 CVS tweeted a statement requesting that their customers, other than authorized law enforcement personnel, do not bring firearms into their stores. I responded to this tweet saying: How is telling law-abiding gun owners not to bring firearms into your store preventing gun violence? Are you all that dense that you believe this will stop a criminal or mass shooter from shooting up a CVS?

This is empty pandering nothing more nothing less.

We in the gun community have been saying it for years and no one listens to us, the only people that gun-free zones keep safe are criminals. That’s it.

I don’t know who was there at the store when this went down, but I can tell you who wasn’t there, “Law enforcement”. The very people you made an exception for in your pander statement. This is no judgement on Dallas PD, it’s just a statement in reality.

Law enforcement can’t be everywhere. This shooting took place in one of the wealthiest zip codes in Dallas! This type of stuff isn’t supposed to happen there, but it did and that’s why gun-free zones are not only stupid, their dangerous.

94% of Mass Public shootings from 1988 to 2015 have been in gun-free zones. Understanding why shouldn’t be this hard.

If putting a sign on a window or putting out a tweet stopped criminals, I’d get rid of my home security system and paint my house in a “No Guns or Home invasions Allowed” print and call it day.

Gun-free signs and tweets don’t work and it’s about time we stop engaging in this stupidity and put the power back in the hands of the people instead of trying to take our power and making us perfect victims.
