112 - The Disappearance of Merrian Carver

In August of 2004, forty year old Merrian Carver took an unannounced trip. She flew from Boston to Seattle where she boarded an Alaskan cruise operated by Celebrity Cruises. Merrian left without telling anyone and they wouldn’t discover she was gone until it was too late.

On August 28th, Merrian was last seen in her cabin aboard the ship. Over the next five days a steward reported her missing five times, but nothing was done about it. A month would pass before an investigation started and when it did, the family and police were met with roadblocks and denials from the cruise line.

While the cruise line claimed Merrian must have committed suicide, her family felt otherwise and strange details about her presence on the ship began raising more questions than there were answers.
