Valheim How to Make Portals | Easy Guide
Picking up your first piece of fine wood unlocks the ability to build portals (10 grey dwarf eyes, 20 fine wood, 2 surtling cores).
Greydwarf eyes are drops when you kill grey dwarfs in the meadows, black forest, and swamp biomes.
Fine wood comes from birch trees in meadows and black forest biomes. You need a bronze axe or better to cut them down.
Surtling cores are found in burial chambers in the black forest biome.
Since portals need to be paired, we recommend always building one near your favourite base camp and then exploring with enough resources to build a second. That way you’ve got a quick way home to regroup or a quick way back to the frontier when you die.

What is Valheim?
A brutal exploration and survival game for 1-10 players, set in a procedurally-generated purgatory inspired by Viking culture. Battle, build, and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage!

Are you worthy of entering Valhalla? You have been sent to Valheim, the 10th Norse world. Only by defeating the mighty beasts of these lands will you win the favour of the gods. Valheim is a game about exploring a huge fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Viking culture. You start your adventure at the relatively peaceful centre of Valheim. The further from the centre you travel, the more challenging the world becomes. But you will also find more valuable materials that you can use to craft deadlier weapons and sturdier armour. You will also build your own Viking strongholds and outposts all over the world. Eventually, you will build a mighty longship and sail the great oceans in search of exotic lands … but be wary of sailing too far...
