Depot of Harpoon missiles destroyed in Odessa. HIMARS launcher also destroyed near Krasnoarmeisk

1. Russian forces destroyed a storage warehouse for Harpoon anti-ship missiles at an industrial site in Odessa with its long-range missiles, and used ground-based weapons to destroy a HIMARS launcher and a resupply vehicle, the Defense Ministry’s spokesman reported on Sunday.

"A warehouse for Harpoon anti-ship missiles supplied to Ukraine by NATO countries was destroyed with [Russian] high-precision long-range missiles at an industrial site in Odessa," Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said.

A US-made HIMARS launcher and a resupply vehicle were also destroyed near Krasnoarmeisk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, he added.

Russian forces also hit a position of the Ukrainian army’s 97th battalion in the Zaporozye Region, leaving up to 65 nationalists killed and over 10 special vehicles destroyed, the Defense Ministry spokesman reported.

2. Kiev sees the Crimean Peninsula as a major military hub and a legitimate target for long-range weaponry by the West, a spokesman for Ukraine’s Directorate of Intelligence at the Ministry of Defense, Vadim Skibitskiy, said Saturday.

The official made the remarks as he appeared live on TV channel 1+1, having been asked whether Ukraine could use US-made М142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS multiple launch rocket systems to strike Crimea.

“Today, the Crimean Peninsula has become a hub for the movement of all equipment and weapons that come from the Russian Federation to the south of our state. It is, first of all, a cluster of military hardware, ammunition and materials that are concentrated in the Crimea, and then sent in to supply the Russian occupying forces,” Skibitskiy stated.
