The Springfield Hellion is based on the Croatian VHS-2 Military combat rifle. Bullpup style rifles have been around for a very long time from the Styer Aug, FN F2000 and many others. By moving the action behind the trigger you get a full 16 inch barrel with a shorter overall profile. It has a full metal picatinny rail, complete ambidextrous controls from safety selector to ejection ports, Mlok rail slots and uses standard Magpul or other M4/AR style magazines.
