Gun Safety for beginners and a reminder for the rest of us

Practicing good firearms safety is important for anyone dealing with firearms. Even if you're very experienced, mistakes happen and following the rules can be the difference between an "oops" and an "OH SHIT".
To drag politics into it, don't give anti-gunners more ammunition by screwing up, follow proper safety procedures so we don't wind up with what THEY call "gun safety" which is basically a government monopoly on force.
