Could Mainstream Acceptance of Psychedelic Therapy Help to End the Drug War?

For the last few nights my partner an I have been watching the new Netflix series "How to Change Your Mind'" featuring Michael Polland....and every other significant psychedelic figure ever; Tim Leary, Huxley, Ginsberg, Rick Doblin, Ann and Sasha Shulgin etc.
The epsiode on the lesser known of these aforementioned psychedelic giants, Dr, Rick Doblin, and his 50 year efforts on behalf of the right of any person to have safe access to MDMA, is the part that really got me (so far; we are only two episodes deep). I have been aware of his role in this battle since I was 12 years old, and when I realised that he has been fighting since before I was born, and is finally winning, I broke down and cried a bit. Partly because it was so inspiring, but also because it is just so damn important.
This documentary is much more than a review of the current state of psychedelic research; it is a bright beacon of hope. The antidote to so manty of the worst societal ills that have plagued humanity has been availavble for decades....centuries even, and they have been deliberately suppressed. All of that is ending. As beautiful as that is, we need to make sure that truly understand all the facets of this travesty and the full scope of its horrific impact. While, of course, availing ourselves of the tremendous potential that lies within these compounds.
Whether history ends with the mushroom of Oppenheimer, or that of Leary and Mckenna could come down to....mushrooms.
