Blasphemy! I hear you say. But if we take off our rose color glasses for a minute, America isn’t exactly the land of the free anymore. [Freedomhouse.org](http://Freedomhouse.org) ranks America as the 52nd freest country on earth. The Heritage economic freedom index puts America at 25, well behind Estonia (7) and Lithuania (17).
