Iran, Russia must stop Turkey's military actions (invasion, permanent occupation) in northern Syria:
1. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Ali Khamenei told Turkish President Recep Tayyip on Tuesday that any military attack on northern Syria will definitely harm Turkey, Syria, and the entire region.

2. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Tuesday the U.S. presence in the eastern Euphrates in Syria is not "justified" under any pretext, urging the Americans to leave the region, according to the official news agency IRNA.

3. Despite the differences in their positions of the Euphrates eastern bank, Russia, Iran and Turkey share the opinion that the United States must leave this region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the Astana Troika summit in Tehran on Tuesday.

4. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday (19 July) told the leaders of Russia and Iran that he expected their full support in Ankara’s fight against “terrorists” in Syria.

Erdoğan accuses outlawed Kurdish militants of using the border region as a staging post for their decades-long insurgency against the Turkish state.

“What we expect from Russia and Iran is their support for Turkey in its fight against terrorism,” Erdoğan said in televised remarks.

Erdoğan noted that Turkey had struck an agreement with Moscow and Washington in 2019 under which both countries were supposed to help push outlawed Kurdish militants 30 kilometres (19 miles) away from the Syria-Turkey border.

“This still has not happened,” said Erdoğan. “It is a long overdue.”
