Computing the Resistance of a Wire ( COMSOL Multiphysics)
5
A 10 mm long copper wire with a radius of 1 mm is investigated. A constant current of 1 ampere is passed through the wire, and the voltage drop is measured to calculate the resistance of the wire. The boundary conditions used are intended to represent a connection to a direct current (DC) source of current. Using the Terminal boundary condition, one end of the wire is grounded, representing a current sink, and the other end is connected to a constant current source of 1 ampere.
Three different meshes are investigated to show that the results are converged in terms of mesh refinement.
