Peaceful Protests and Violent Looting—What’s Going On?

Protests, riots, and looting have erupted across the United States in response to a policeman murdering George Floyd, a black man, by kneeling on his neck. For 9 minutes. As that footage went viral, anger flared and accusations of systemic racism spread. Many protests were peaceful. Protesters held signs with Black Lives Matter. But then extremists within the peaceful protests began attacking police, looting, lighting fires and destroying property. Some say they were Antifa. Others say they were white supremacists. What really is going on?
