A lot of people have this sense, and unfortunately it comes from pop culture references. It comes from things like Time Cop or Marty McFly and Back to the Future. But if you study time and I'm not a physicist, but also physicists don't have a monopoly on time. Other people have been studying it for much longer, philosophers, anthropologists, obviously physicists as well. I do tend to side with the physicists more and their conventional notion of block time.
