Replacing a Worn Out Shift Knob, Part 2

Trying some finishing techniques on the 3D printed gear shift knob.

This part comes with no finishing instructions, so I wanted to document a few things I tried. I could have just jumped to the finished part, but I wanted to show things that didn't work as well.

I'm not bashing the fill-in-paint. It's designed for use on shallow, stamped or engraved lettering. I've tried it with some stamped lettering, by scrubbing the stick back and forth over that and wiping off the excess. It works great for that, but I don't think this was a good application for it, the lettering on this knob was just too deep:
