Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on July 21, 2022

▪️ Ukrainians conscripted into AFU protest against being sent to the front. Servicemen of the 100th Territorial Defence Brigade in Luts’k, Volyn’ Region, refused to participate in combat operations.

▪️ In Zhitomir, the 1st Separate Special Purpose Brigade named after Ivan Bodun was formed from reservists and minors.

▪️ AFU command moved three HIMARS MLRS launchers southeast of Kharkiv, most likely, preparing massive strikes on Balakliya and Izyum.

▪️ In Slovyansk direction, mopping up of the dense forests around Mazanivka continues, as taking control of the forested area will make it possible to reach the northern approaches to the city.

▪️ Despite the withdrawal of part of AFU units from Seversk, the fighting has not really started in the city itself. Fighting for the dominant heights around the village of Verhn'okam'yans'ke continues.

▪️ Allied forces are fighting for Berestove and Ivano-Dar'ivka and so far have not not managed to gain a foothold in Berestove despite a fierce assault.

▪️ At the outskirts of Soledar, the assault on Pokrovs'ke continues. The settlement is still under AFU control.

▪️ The world media headlines once again claim an imminent counterattack on Kherson. AFU are pulling in reserves including troops from Donbass.

▪️ Ukrainian formations shelled Russian Armed Forces’ positions and rear bases in Kherson direction. Another artillery attack on Antonivsʹkyy Bridge was repelled. Russian air defence grouping in the region is building up.

▪️ Russian Armed Forces launched strikes on AFU depots and positions in Nikopol' and Marganets’. A temporary deployment point of AFU units on the territory of a vegetable depot in Mykolaiv was hit.

▪️ For the first time, Ukraine has received western-made SAMs: six British Stormer HVMs have already been moved to the front.
