Sunday Longplay - Doom 1 (Switch) - Add-on #1: Sigil (UV-Max)

It's the last Sunday of Doom Month, and I thought I'd do something special for the occasion. With the new update to the classic Doom games on modern consoles comes add-on WAD files, basically adding more content to the game for no additional cost. The first add-on added for Doom 1 was Sigil, an unofficial "Episode 5" of Ultimate Doom created by John Romero in honor of Doom's 25th anniversary. So let's play that this week to close out Doom Month on Sunday Longplay!

Just like with the previous episodes, I will be going for 100% kills and secrets on Ultra-Violence difficulty. And boy, does Romero know how to hide some of those secrets!

One unique thing about this wad is that there are two soundtracks. There's a midi soundtrack made by James Paddock (which is what you hear in the console version), and there's also a separate soundtrack by guitar shredder Buckethead (any Guitar Hero fans from my other channel might know him as the author of "Jordan", the hardest song in Guitar Hero 2).

While overall not as hard as Thy Flesh Consumed, Sigil definitely has some trouble spots (Map 7 in particular definitely lives up to its name), and ammo is extremely tight. I barely had enough ammo to finish! The secret exit can be found in Map 6: Unspeakable Persecution.
