The charge often comes about being legalistic when a messianic believer starts moving toward keeping the Torah.

But when they mention it--what comes to mind is Indigo Montoya--"I don't think it means what you think it means."

As I've stated in other messages--the Torah is not to be kept to be saved, but because we are saved. It is God's discipleship program and it reveals what pleases Him. It is the Law, the Instruction, the Torah of the King--that will one day govern and rule all of God's people under the Messiah.

But why wait? Is legalism a real thing? Absolutely--in our personal lives--it is driven by fear. In a congregation it is the tactic of power and control.
