THREAT ON NOT? | PUTIN : If West wants to beat us on the battlefield, let them try

President Vladimir Putin boasted on Thursday that Russia had barely gotten started in Ukraine and dared the West to try to beat it on the battlefield.

"Today we hear that they [the West] want to defeat us on the battlefield. What can you say, let them try," he said.

Russia accuses the West, who they say is collectively headed by the United States, of waging a proxy war against it by hammering its economy with sanctions and stepping up the supply of advanced weapons to Ukraine.

Putin said while there was still a possibility of peace talks, the prospects would grow dimmer the longer the conflict with Ukraine dragged on.
